Field Trip's Ashwagandha - a healing botanical

Adaptogens have gone mainstream. And for good reason. These natural medicines are aimed to boost our energy levels and sex drives, improve our moods, and balance our hormones.   Adaptogens help the body cope with external stresses such as toxins in the environment and internal stresses such as anxiety and insomnia.  With much information floating around on different types of adaptogens and what these powerful herbal medicines help to benefit, it can get a bit overwhelming.  So, we recommend a great jumping off point into the adaptogenic world is Ashwagandha.  And guess what, we have our very own Field Trip Ashwagandha extract that is locally sourced, organic, and biodynamically farmed and ready for you to grab in-store and online!

So let us tell you a bit about Ashwagandha and it's amazing benefits to the mind body, and soul. Ashwagandha is an important herb in Ayurvedic medicine because it serves many purposes and benefits many body systems, including the immune, neurological, endocrine and reproductive systems.  It has classically been used in India for nearly 5,000 years for conditions such as failure to thrive in children, weakness and debility in old age, rheumatism, constipation, insomnia, nervous conditions, stress, goiter, joint inflammation, parasites, hormone balance, and more. A paste made from the root powder applied topically can treat boils, ulcers, and other skin irritations and infections.  Ashwagandha is frequently referred to as “Indian ginseng” because of its rejuvenating properties, even though botanically, ginseng and ashwagandha are unrelated.  It is quite the magical, healing botanical.
