New Norden

Norden is a brand we've come to know and love in the shop. They've been on our shelves since the beginning. Last year we got to meet the founders (husband and wife team, Erika and Pete Panciera) when we co-hosted a summer party with them at Field Trip. Norden uses clean lines and to-die-for scents to create products that we continue to reach for. We're excited for our restock of Norden products to help keep ourselves grounded and inspired through the gray Portland winter.

Norden's dreamy candles are mostly inspired by places in California. The shop favorite seems to be Ojai for both it's scent (Frankincense, Cypress, Patchouli, Palo Santo) and the wonderful speckled hand-thrown container it comes in (use it as a cup, planter, pencil holder after the candle is done). Ojai is also available in long-lasting incense.

Other scents we love are:

BigSur (Oakmoss, Pine, Citrus, Wood Smoke) the candle is held in a black ceramic container, with a touch of unpainted ceramic on the bottom

Idyllwild (Cedarwood, Sage, Vetiver, Citrus) the candle comes in a crisp white container grounded by unpainted ceramic on the bottom and is also available in incense

While most Norden scents are inspired by California, their hand wash scents branch out to the East Coast. Montauk (Grapefruit, Juniper Berry) and Kaaterskill (Fennel, Lemon, Black Pepper) are inspired by New York. For us on the West Coast, they bring New York to us without the plane ride.

Norden's new Terracotta planters are the perfect mix of modern and southwest vibes that have us dreaming of warm weather. The Norden planters have a drainage hole on the bottom; a drainage hole helps keep plants healthy by ensuring water drains, which in turn allows plant roots to get air. We currently have the Terracotta planters in a 10" size (perfect for adding smaller plants to bedrooms or living rooms) and a 12" size (ideal for bigger, statement plants). The terracotta color helps make the green of the plant pop; we love the idea of using the planters with a plant with white flowers or an aloe plant. Come by the shop to see for yourself how much warmth these planters bring to a room.
