Block Shop Textiles

If you were ever in search of beautiful handmade textiles, that also happen to benefit the artisans and environment, we've found it for you in Block Shop. Founded by sisters Hopie and Lily Stockman, Block Shop effortlessly blends traditional Indian hand block printing with a modern California aesthetic.  The sisters work hand in hand with Viju, a fifth-generation master printer and his family in Bagru, Rajasthan.  They continue to work in the same way India has for over three centuries, designing on paper, printing with wooden blocks, and small batch dyeing, as a result no two fabrics are the exactly the same. Most of the designs are inspired by the two cities the sisters spend their time in: LA and Jaipur. Colors are rendered in all natural dyes that evoke California's landscape. In addition every year Block Shop gives back 5% of their profits to community healthcare programs.  Since their launch the brand has put health care, eye care, and clean drinking water within the the reach of several families, and plans to make women's healthcare next. We couldn't be more thrilled, to have an eclectic mix of their airy silk cotton scarves for our Field Trippers.
