The Six Healing Sounds are a Taoist practice that can be practiced simply, everyday for as a spiritual practice that is valuable for stress relief. This technique seeks to transform negative energy into positive, loving and healing energy, by transforming stored negative energy from the organs into healing light.

The Lung Sound

Fear is stored in the lungs -- the lung sound seeks to transform fear into courage through the breath.

Sitting on the edge of a chair, with feet shoulders width apart, place hand palms up on your thighs. Raise both hands above your head, palms ups, with fingers pointing towards each other and lookup. With your tongue behind closed teeth, let out a long slow exhalation and make the sound "SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS." Return your hands to your thighs with palms up and imagine a white light shining on your lungs, concentrate on sending your energy here. Repeat 2 more times.

The Kidney Sound

The kidney transforms stored emotional energy into gentleness and generosity.

Sitting on the edge of a chair, with feet shoulders width apart, place hand palms up on your thighs. Lean forward and clasp hands around knees, lookup. Forming a small "O" with your lips. let out a long slow exhalation and make the sound "WOOOOOOOOOOOO." Place your hands back on your thighs and imagine a blue light shining upon your kidneys, concentrate on sending your energy here. Repeat 2 more times.

The Liver Sound

The liver transforms stored emotional energy into kindness.

Sitting on the edge of a chair, with feet shoulders width apart, place hands palms up on your thighs. Raise both hands above your head, palms ups, and interlock your fingers. Lean slightly to the left, lookup. Placing your tongue near the palate, with a slow exhalation make the sound "SHHHHHHHHHHHHH." Place your hands back on your thighs and imagine a green light shining upon your kidneys, concentrate on sending your energy here. Repeat 2 more times.

The Heart Sound

The heart transforms the emotional energy inside the heart into love, joy & happiness.

Sitting on the edge of a chair, with feet shoulders width apart, place hands palms up on your thighs. Raise both hands above your head, palms ups, and interlock your fingers. Lean slightly to the left, lookup. With the mouth wide open, exhale a deep breath slowly and produce the sound "HAWWWWWWWW." Returning your hands to the thighs, imagine a red light shining upon your heart, surrounding it, concentrate on sending your energy here. Repeat 2 more times.

The Spleen Sound

The spleen sound transforms the emotional energy inside the spleen into openness, fairness and justice.

Sitting on the edge of a chair, with feet shoulders width apart. Place hands, under the rib cage, palms up and open with finger pressing together. Inhale and gently push the sides of your hands in and up under the rib cage. Placing the tongue near the palate, and with a long, slow exhalation, produce the sound "WHOOOOOOOO" from the throat, like the sound of an owl. Returning your hands to the thighs, imagine a yellow light shining upon your spleen and pancrease, surrounding it, concentrate on sending your energy here. Repeat 2 more times.

Triple Warmer

Now, if possible, lay flat on your back with your mouth open and exhale slowly to produce the sound "HEEEEEEEEEEEE" and imagine a huge rolling pin flattening out your body from your head to your toes. This will balance all the energies activated by the other sounds and help you to fully relax. Repeat 2 more times.

Practicing the Six Healing Sounds daily helps to recycle more negative emotions and transform them into refreshing vital force.
